Top 10 Most Common Bad Habits that Cause Pimples

Nowadays, we men are more conscious about our body more special to those men that interact with other people. At the same time, different institutions are starting to help us get rid of our problems especially those who have facial problems – like pimples. But not all of us are aware that the common bad habits on our daily life are maybe the cause of these pimples. Below are the top 10 most common bad habits that cause pimples:

10. Using Harsh Soaps on Face (The “Kad-kad Pamore” Habit)

Photo from www.samuitimes.com
Some men prefer to use soaps on their face but they don’t know that too much using of soap on our face can accumulate pimples. Generally, soaps in the market are abrasive since they are developed for whitening or exfoliating purposes. And as soaps exfoliate our skin, soaps leave residues that cause bacteria and eventually lead to pimple break out. Aside from that, using harsh soaps can darken our facial skin even though these soaps offer whitening effects.

I’m guilty of this habit before especially those times when I was experimenting on how am able to get rid of pimples. Base on my own experience, majority of soaps that have kojic acid really worsen or damage my facial skin. Maybe my skin can’t resist the acidity of those soaps. So, until now I’m skipping those soaps that have kojic acid and I prefer glutathione other than that. If you really prefer soaps for your face other than facial washes, my advice to you is to use not too strong soap. Use a milder one. Also, use facial cleanser to remove deep-seated dirt and residues that caused by your soaps. And lastly, use soaps twice a day only, preferably morning and evening.

9. Always Looking at the Mirror (The “Mirror Syndrome” Habit)

Photo from www.123rf.com

For sure, many men and women are guilty of this habit – looking their reflection at the mirror whether they are in public or at home. As men, we always want to look good so as far as there are mirrors, side mirror of vehicles or even those tinted wind shields, we will try to fix our hair and then put powder on our face if we feel our face a bit oily. But sometimes as we look our reflection at the mirror, we can see some annoying pimples and out of our desperation to eliminate those pimples, we put different facial products on the affected area. And due to some side effects of these products, other than to heal those pimples it only worsens the condition.

I called this habit as the “mirror syndrome.” I don’t have any solution about this habit but the only thing that I can advise is to minimize the time of staying at the mirror. The shorter you look at the mirror, the lesser the possibility of interaction with those pimples.

8. Always Touching your Face (The “Touchy” Habit)

Photo from www.gettyimages.co.uk

Touching your nose, touching your forehead, touching your cheeks, touching your whole face! Dude, STOP! The “touchy habit” is considered one of the prominent causes of pimples. Since we regularly use our hands in many activities and we forget to wash it after, the dirt, dusts, and bacteria are accidentally transferred from our hands to our face. Aside from that, some men nowadays are using powder on their face. And putting powder on our face required our hands. In addition, many of us are not aware of that.

I’m guilty of the “touchy habit” since I regularly put powder on my face to reduce the shine and oil on my face. Below are my advises on how to get rid of this bad habit:

             1.    Use hand sanitizer or alcohol before pouring powder on your hands or as needed.
             2.    Use clean soft handkerchief on wiping your face.
             3.    Avoid touching your face frequently.
             4.    Don’t scratch your face when you feel some itchiness.
             5.    Always keep your hands clean.

7. Shifting Facial Products (The “Two-timer” Habit)

Photo from paultheprguy.blogspot.com

Many of us are not aware that shifting facial products are not good for our skin. Shifting facial products can damage even the healthier layer of the skin. For example, if you’re previously using soap on your face and eventually you change it into a facial wash or other brand of soap, the skin that not yet healing from the soap will get worsen by the later product. And then when this happen, you’re going to try another product to heal it but this not really solve the problem but rather worsen and worsen it. Taking care of our skin is like relationship, having two partners are not good – stick-to-one only! (Do I sound a love guru now? XD XD XD)

I’m really guilty of the “two-timer” habit. Since I’m not really contented of the effects that gave by my previous products, I’ve tried some products that hoping to give me better result but unfortunately, some didn’t work and rather worsen my condition. That only advice that I can gave is to stick-to-one product only! Kung saan hiyang ka, doon ka na lang.

6. Holding your Pee (The “Ceasefire” Habit)

Photo from www.menshealth.com

Holding your pee is really a bad habit. Our pee is dirt from our body and to eliminate the dirt, we should release it as urine. There is no point to keep the dirt on our body, so it’s better to release it or otherwise it only increases the number of pimples on our body.

This habit is generally the cause of my pimples when I was in high school. I’m guilty of holding my pee before. I refuse to pee at school because the comfort room at that school is really bad. I only used to pee on their C.R. when I was in 3rd year where the conditions of C.R.s there were getting better.

5. Stress (The “Sunog-Kilay” Habit)

Photo from www.custress.com
There are many varieties of stresses that cause pimples. The most common one is the stress of school. Pimples are more common to teenagers who are commonly schooling. Studying is really stressful especially when the deadlines of paper submission are coming. Stresses are cause by hormonal imbalance happening inside our body and it comes out in different for such as pimples.

As an engineering student, I experience this kind of stress. But I have some remedies on how to get rid of this stress:

                1.    Be happy / be positive.
                2.    Stop for a while when you’re feeling some headache.
                3.    Listen to music / watch funny videos.
                4.    Take a rest.
                5.    Keep calm in times of stress.

The above list is only an advice base on my experience. The result may vary on your condition and your lifestyle.

4. Unbalance Diet / Eating Unhealthy Foods (The Close to Ulcer Habit)

Photo from oratechsolve.com

What we eat reflects what we are. Unbalance diet and/or eating unhealthy foods lead to some health issues. Treating or getting rid of pimples is not only by putting products on our skin. Eating healthy foods are very essential to our body. So, don’t only rely outside, but also take care of the inside for a better result.

I’m guilty of skipping breakfast. Sometimes I only eat once or twice a day depending on the works I’m going to finish. The more activities on a specific day, the lesser I chance to eat. I’m sorry if I can give you an advice since I also struggling this kind of habit.

3. Laying your Face on your Pillow while Sleeping (The “Dapa Pamore” Habit)

Photo from greatist.com

Sleeping is also very essential to us but improper position of sleeping can generate pimples especially on our face. Our pillows are not dirt-proof so as the days past the more dirt it catches that sometimes we refuse to take an action on that. This is also the cause why sometimes we wake up and we looked at the mirror; there is/are pimple/s.

The advice that I can gave to you is to change your pillowcase once a week but in my condition, due to my laziness, I change it once every two weeks sometimes much longer. Also, observe proper position on sleeping. Don’t lay your face on your pillow while sleeping even its pillowcase is newly changed.

2. Lack of Sleep / Sleeping Late (The “Zombie Mode” Habit)

Photo from www.wisegeek.org

Maybe, I’m not the only one guilty of this habit – lack of sleep / sleeping late. Our body needs to rest and sleeping helps we recover from the tiredly day. But sleeping too late is not advisable since it can’t help restore the lost energy. How it can effect on accumulating pimples? Sleeplessness loosen the elasticity of our skin and because of that, our skin will get more prone of bacteria that cause pimples.

Being guilty of this habit, I still trying sleep at least 7 hours a day but since I’m an engineering student, I sometimes skip the 7-hour rule. So, the only advice that I can give is to chop the 7-hour of sleeping. Sleep 2-3 hours in the afternoon and the rest at night so that you can comply with the 7-hour rule of sleeping.

1. Pricking Pimples (The “Party Popper” Habit)

Photo from www.alamy.com

And now, down to the top 1 most common bad habit that cause pimples – pricking pimples! Pricking your pimples is a big NO! This habit can lead to some severe skin issues – pimple marks, increase number of pimples and dark spots.

I learned from this! Talagang nagsisisi ako sa pagtiris ko ng mga pimple ko! If I ever have a chance to back in time, I will refuse to prick my pimples. But unfortunately, it’s impossible. I accept it and I’ve learned from it. And now, I am tolerating myself not to prick my pimples anymore. So guys, never ever prick your pimples if you don’t want to have a worse skin condition.

The above list is only base on my opinion and experience. Maybe there are more causes of these pimples and I’m glad if you can share it with us and let us know how you manage or dealt with it. WoWhite Super Whitening Herbal Soap Review

Here I am again, Boss Gio at your service! Like what I’ve promise on my last blog, I’m going to review the best soap that I’ve tried – the WoWhite Super Whitening Herbal soap! This soap is the one that really worked on my pimples and acne problems.

The WoWhite Super Whitening Herbal soap has the main ingredients of bearberry, lemon and aloe vera extracts. From what I’ve research about these ingredients, bearberry is great for skin whitening and skin lightening effect; lemon for dark spots and impurities; and aloe vera is good for fighting bacteria causing pimples. With the combination of these three wonderful ingredients, your skin really feels good and looks good!

Ingredients: sodium palmate, sodium palm kernelate, water, cocamidopropyl betaine, salicylic acid, arctostaphylos uva-ursi (bearberry) leaf extract, citrus limon (lemon) fruit extract, aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf extract, sodium lactate, glycerin, fragrance, dipropylene glycol, tetrasodium EDTA, tetrasodium etidronate, butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), CI 77891, CI 11680.

I also was looking for soap and facial washes that have salicylic acid since it’s for pimples and acne problems and I’m glad that this soap has this ingredient, the reason why I’ve continue using that without over thinking if this soap will worsen my pimples and acne problems (plus 1 point for this).

The WoWhite Super Whitening Herbal soap box also includes its benefits and it’s below with my side comments:

Super whitening. That’s true! It really whitens my skin. It is great for both my face and body. Aside from that, it help my skin even out.

Prevents formation of dark spots. At first, I regret to believe that this soap will fades the dark spots that caused by my pimples that popped out and those that get dried but dudes its true! It is also one of the reason why I’ve loved this soap compared to the other soaps that I’ve tried since they only whitens me but didn’t help me get rid dark spots.

No sting exfoliation. I object on that XD. I’ve really experienced severe sting sensation especially on my 1-2 weeks of usage. I’ve also expected that since all the soaps that I’ve tried before and now really gave me slit to severe sting sensation.

Helps prevent the appearance of pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. On my first month of usage, I’ve not yet notice this benefit. After and after of usage, WOW! I can’t believe it. It really eliminated my pimples!

Gently cleanses the skin and clogged pores. Honestly, I don’t have any problem about this since my skin problems were cleared through this soap but it not helps me tighten my pores :(

Anti-bacterial. Maybe it is also the reason why I get rid of my pimples and acne problems.

I also salute the manufacturer of this soap for being honest. They said on the box that redness, mild stinging and outbreak of the skin may be experienced during first few days of use. They also please the usage to continue using the product as all skin impurities are being flushed out to reveal brighter and younger looking skin.

For its effectivity, I gave this soap a 9.5/10 rating for my face and body.

            PROs
·         Whitens and lightens both face and body skin
·         Fades dark spots
·         Anti-pimples
·         Affordable
·         Not melt easily
CONs
·         Have sting sensation
·         Very rare on the market
·         Can’t tighten pores
·         Can’t fade acne marks

Take note guys that the effects and benefits of this soap on my skin are maybe different from yours. Hiyangan lang sa madaling salita. But for me, this is the best soap ever -- WoWhite Super Whitening Herbal soap! I am a living testimony of this effectivity but unfortunately, for an unknown reason, the product had been gone on the market but when I searched it online, I’ve found that there are people selling this product online.

I hope that you’ve like my review! Don’t forget to follow me and share it! If you have suggestions, recommendations, and objections, just leave your comments here. THANK YOU!!!...

My “F” Face Story: Be Inspired

Hi guys out there! It’s me again, Boss Gio! The first blog that I made was about how men dress-up with confidence and style. Dressing-up is good but since dressing good is not enough and you should have also the great face, an angelic face (how I wish to have that face XD) but for those with not so pogi face (kaway-kaway sa mga hindi kakinisan dyan! I’m so guity XD) it is a little bit disgusting. What the essence of wearing beautiful and great clothes if you do not have a good face! OUCH! Bull’s eye! Now let me share to all guys my big “F” face story XD especially when I was in high school that made me unconfident before yet found my destiny :).

My “F” face story started when I was in grade 6, when the first time I experience to have a pimple on my forehead (if I’m not mistaken on what I remember). I told to myself that maybe it is natural since I’m in puberty stage but on my other side, I felt a little bit scared since my father experienced pimples when he was young teen that leaves scars on his face. But until I got into high school, some of my classmates noticed tiny bumps growing on my face especially on my forehead (the curse was started!) yet that was not so noticeable since I didn’t try any product on my face before. But until my 2nd year, these bumps get bigger and bigger that totally scared me because those are very big, painful and embarrassing. That’s the time I started to fix it by using some products (cough to those strong soap and cleanser). But all of them brought my pimples worsen and worsen. I have on my forehead, on my chin, and the most painful of all are those pimples that grown on my nose specifically those that grown on the peak. People look at my face every time I was commuting. This problem continued until my graduation day. I can’t find my graduation picture but if I found it, I will post it on my next blog in the future, the face that you never want to have.

College! What the heck! Yeah, that expression XD. If until now I have my first ID when I was in 1st year college, I will show you but since we must surrender our old ID for our latest ID for our major program (In college, course refer to the subject like English 101, Math 101, etc while program refer to, for example, BS Civil Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering, etc) I can’t XD but I’ll try to find my HS grad pic. But in my 1st year 2nd sem in college, the so called miracle was granted!

My mother let me tried the soap that recommended by her friend for those with lots of pimples and acne. The soap that I’m talking about is the WoWhite Super Whitening Herbal Soap (pardon if I only provide now is its picture but in my future blog, I’ll going to review this product since I’d tried it). This soap is a miracle for me! In a month of using it, my pimples are getting fewer and fewer (still there were an isolated pimples appearing maybe because of my genes that I inherited on my father). My old HS classmates, relatives and friends noticed the change on my face. It’s so funny when one of my HS friends asked me if I get into derma or the likes. I just replied her with a smile and I said that it is because of the WoWhite soap (sounds I was endorsing XD).

This greatness continued until the end of my 2nd year because unfortunately, this product was gone on the market. I can say that this product is very rare since the store that I only know selling this product is Citimart and that’s the reason why I tried another product (the painful experiment again T_T). Due to those experimenting, my pimples get back with families now XD (sounds funny yet disgusting).

Before, I only rely on facial soaps since those are cheaper than facial washes yet harsher. But since I’d experimenting on that time which product works on my skin problem, I gave a shot to try facial washes. The facial washes that I gave thumbs up base on my so called experimenting are the Pond’s Men Acne and Oil control, and Pond’s Complete Solution Acne Clear White (I’ll provide separate reviews for the two products). Still, I’m on and off on using soap and facial washes until now since they not gave greater effect compare to the miraculous effect of WoWhite soap. But today I can confidently have conversation with others without worrying if people that you are talking are staring on your face. I still break out and have isolated pimples yet it’s more different from what face I have today compared to who I am before (the dugyot day). I can now confidently look my reflection on the mirror compared before that every time I looked on the mirror I can’t explained the feeling of disgusting and embarrassing to myself. And now, I am more conscious on good hygiene and taking care of my skin (but I’m not saying that I have now the flawless skin).

To sum up all the soaps and facial washes that I’d tried before, here is my list with my corresponding rating for each product:

1.    Mestiza soap 6/10
2.    WoWhite Super Whitening Herbal soap 9.5/10

Note: the soaps that I’ve mentioned above are only those that I tried on my face only since our skin condition on our face and body are not the same. Facial skin is thinner than the rest of our body and sometimes more sensitive. I shall give you in the future the soaps that I tried for my body. And also, the products that I’ve used after the date I’ve post this blog is not yet included on the list of soap and facial washes.

How Men Dress-up with Confidence and Style?

Photo from www.philstar.com
Hi guys! I’m newbie on this kind of world – BLOGGING… I’ll just give it a try since its summer and serves as my new neutralizer from the stresses of my summer classes. Okay, what’s the first am going to discuss? Let’s talked about DRESSING-UP WITH CONFIDENCE AND STYLE since looking good is considered vital to men nowadays.

Not only girls are into fashion style, even dudes deserve it. But it’s a little bit unfair XD since girly stuffs are more available here in the Philippines and they have wide variety to choose for. I’m talking about those so called “bling-bling”. But maybe girls deserve these since men prefer a simple fashion style. Even though we have a small space to choose for in the world of dressing-up, let’s still have a style starting with the color of our shirts to wear (I’ll only discuss here about shirts since I don’t prefer polo or long sleeve when I’m going out).

Like girls, we should be mindful on choosing the color of the shirt we want to wear. Guys, consider your skin color on choosing. Remember that a positive is great on negative. Means, if you have a dark complexion, choose a light color and if you have light skin like me, dark color is great but it has still some exceptions. One is the climate.

If its summer, avoid wearing dark-colored clothes very often since dark-colored shirts absorb heat that will make you uncomfortable and sweaty. Plus, even though I’m a light skin-colored, I used to wear light color like white. A one-colored t-shirt is okay, simple yet styli.

Next stop: our lower garments. Since I’ve never tried all the fashion style, I’ll just only discuss here those fashion styles that I’ve tried and tested. I’ll start with the shorts. I prefer to wear above the knee shorts (I’m referring to a semi-fitted short) matching with a not so large size shirts (a positive is great on negative J). A semi-fitted short is also good for your actual shirt size. But I only advise this kind of style to light skin-colored and those with an average height. For those dark skin-colored, pants and jeans are great, I also prefer a semi-fitted pants and jeans. For the color, pastel color is my favorite. This is applicable for any skin complexion and height.

And the last: shoes! I love shoes!!!!! (I’m sorry if I’m a little bit exaggerated when talking about shoes XD). I have no problems to discuss about choosing the color or the style of shoes, have your guts feel it XD.

By the way, I’m not depending on the brands of shoes, jeans or even shirts since in my perspective, people only look on us and they’re not going to touch what we are wearing. There’s no point to depend on the brand, it depends on how to wear the clothes. Guys, remember this:

“Express with a small expense, for the sake of style and confidence!”

I’m sorry if my first blog is not so convincing, you can leave comments for me to improve my work. But if you like it, please follow me. Thank you! ‘til my next blog!
